Many of the attendees to these chapter events have come from other chapters, carrying the story of their experience back to their own chapters, and into the student's car. Comments offered on evaluations suggested a high level of value and utility as perceived by the attendees of the clinics through the years.
Additionally, several Clinics have been presented at BMW CCA's Oktoberfests (1995 Rocky Mountain, 2001 Peachtree) and the Gateway Tech events (1997 and 2002) in St. Louis. Several articles have mentioned these clinics very favorably, written by Dave Farnsworth ("Roundel" September 1006) and Gregg Ten Eyck ("Roundel" October 1995).
As NASA-Va. Region's Chief of Instruction, Dan has presented exactly the same clinics to our instructor corps - allowing BMW CCA members the opportunity to take these clinics and become part of NASA's corps. As NASA-Va.has "standardized" its instruction qualifications by using these clinics, those BMW CCA members who have attended clinics at any location are recognized as "preferred list" by NASA. Likewise, many BMW CCA chapters and the Mustang Club of America chapters recognize High Performance Concepts Clinic-trained instructors as qualified to work with the chapter.
The net result is that a more common, "standardized" instruction format is presented, thus allowing students to attend other chapter and NASA-Va. events with the confidence that they will be getting consistent information, delivered by instructors sharing a common background in instructor-training. Of course, this also means that instructors will also have an opportunity to add value to more driving events.
